The side event ‘Can Human Rights Education Curtail Ageism?’ will be held during the 41st session of the Human Rights Council. The event will be held on Wednesday, 10 July, 13:00-14:30 in Conference Room XXV, Palais des Nations, Geneva.
Following the report and panel on technical cooperation and capacity building around the human rights of older
persons that takes place the same day 9:00-11:00, the event will emphasize the need to meaningfully include older persons in the capacity building efforts of the OHCHR and of Member States. It will showcase good practice and explore how human rights education can take an inclusive, life-long learning approach. Some descriptions of the manifestations of ageism and its consequences in the enjoyment of human rights will be discussed.
